Newcastle United news: McClaren faces media after deadline day, fans react to deals
It's not all Doum and gloom on Tyneside after Newcastle United ended January as the Premier League's biggest spenders.
The club forked out almost £30million in the transfer window, which closed last night.
Newcastle, however, failed in a £21million bid to sign West Bromwich Albion's Saido Berahino.
Writer Miles Starforth gives his view of the club's transfer-window business.
Head coach Steve McClaren will face the media this afternoon ahead of tomorrow night's game against Everton at Goodison Park.
The club is 18th in the Premier League and two points adrift of safety.
