Newcastle United news: Shock exit on cards, double striker blow
Florian Thauvin is on the brink of a shock return to former club Olympique Marseille.
The winger joined Newcastle United last summer in a deal which also saw Remy Cabella head to the Stade Velodrome.
But Thauvin has struggled to establish himself at St James's Park.
And we have news of a proposed loan deal for the 22-year-old, who was booed by fans on his last appearance for the club.
Newcastle's No 1 priority in this month's transfer window is a striker.
However, the club has suffered a double setback in its search for striking reinforcements.
The striker won and converted a penalty in Tuesday night's 3-3 draw against Manchester United.
