Red Door, on Ocean Road, opened at the beginning of November 2019 but just a week into February 2020, it was announced that it has changed its name to Arbeia – the Roman name for South Shields.

Along with the name change, it was revealed that the bar will be revising their drinks menu and prices this month.

But, the announcements don’t stop there.

The Red Door sign was officially removed and replaced with ‘Arbeia’ on Thursday, February 13, ahead of Valentine’s Day and just days later, a new neon sign in blue reading ‘Industry’ was installed next door.

Arbeia announced that Industry is the bar’s new nightclub in a statement on its Facebook page.

The statement said: “Our nightclub is launching on the 27th of March. Make sure you follow the page on Facebook & Instagram! @Industrysouthshields.”

A spokesperson on the Industry Facebook page added: “Our new sign has now been installed! Preparations for our launch night on the 27th of March are well on the way!”

Those who want to attend the launch party on Friday, March 27 can sign up for free online to receive exclusive queue jump access, free drinks on entry and drink offers all night. The nightclub will be open that evening from 10pm.

More details are set to be released closer to the time.

Jade often attends live music nights at her bar on a weekend and has previously performed there with local bands.

Red Door, formerly Amari Beach, in Ocean Road, South Shields, hit the headlines when Jade, fellow South Shields-born bandmate Perrie Edwards, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock celebrated the end of the North East leg of their LM5 Tour with a trip to the venue before its official opening.

The 350-capacity venue is owned by Jade and was previously being operated by Red Door, who have successful bars based in Liverpool and Chester before changing to Arbeia earlier this month.
