South Shields’ Ocean Beach Pleasure Park launches rides offer for the Great North Run
A South Shields fair is helping Great North Run day run smoothly for people of all ages.
Ocean Beach Pleasure Park is looking to ease the ‘frustration’ of Great North Run day through a variety of different offers.
The funfair, on Sea Road, in South Shields is offering half price rides, quasar and arcade games from 11.30am until 3.30pm on Sunday, September 13.
The move aims to give people something to do while they are waiting for roads to reopen or for family to finish the iconic half marathon.
An Ocean Beach Pleasure Park spokesperson said: “It’s not often you see anything go down in price on Great North Run Day but here at Ocean Beach Pleasure Park we know how stressful a day it can be already without all the added money pressures.
“With phone reception usually very difficult, why not make Ocean Beach the perfect meeting point.”
As well as half price rides, Scoop and Bean is offering 15% off for all runners with a medal or bib, while Log Cabin Fisheries is providing a free hot or cold drink with all food purchases.
