Metro services off at South Shields stations for the whole weekend due to maintenance
Metro passengers are facing journeys on a bus replacement service this weekend as work is carried out on the tracks.
Today, Saturday, January 4, and tomorrow, there are no trains running between Bede in Jarrow and the interchange at South Shields.

During this time, a bus replacement service 900 will be calling at the five stations.
Nexus, which operates the service, has said journeys will take long and has asked people to check times and leave extra time for travel.
Next Saturday, January 11, and Sunday, January 12, there will be no trains between South Gosforth and Heworth while overhead line renewal work is carried out, with a bus replacement service planned.
Some train services will be changed on Friday 10, Saturday 11, Sunday 12 and Monday 13 January due to the work.
