Hebburn Town have learnt lessons from Macclesfield defeat - Moore
Hebburn Town host National League North rivals Chester at the Trustmark Group Stadium on Saturday.
Daniel Moore has insisted Hebburn Town FC will learn lessons from Monday’s defeat at Macclesfield as they look to kickstart another unbeaten run when Chester head to the Trustmark Group Stadium on Saturday.

The Hornets have impressed during the first month of their first ever season in the National League North after collecting 13 points from their first five games of the campaign and that ensured they were top of the table ahead of Monday’s trip to the North West.

However, the game against a side tipped for promotion this season proved to be a step too far as they Hornets suffered a 3-0 defeat at the Leasing.com Stadium. Moore believes there were positives for his side to take from their first defeat as a step two club and urged his players to learn from the experience as they head into another major test this weekend.
He told The Gazette: “We went there are for best part of 60 minutes we were in the game but we just ran out of steam. I hold my hands up, that’s on me because could I have freshened it up a little bit, possibly. But I thought the players that put in that effort against King’s Lynn on Saturday deserved to have a crack at Macclesfield so it was a difficult one. But we will learn from that, we always learn no matter what, but we will learn from that going into another busy month.”
‘The players are absolutely desperate to do that’

Moore’s side actually head into Saturday’s game looking for a third consecutive win on their home patch after seeing off Southport and King’s Lynn Town at the Trustmark Group Stadium over the last three weeks. Chester will provide arguably the biggest test of the Hornets determination to remain unbeaten at home all season - and Moore has stressed his players are ‘absolutely desperate’ to return to winning ways.
He said: “King’s Lynn were saying they were coming to Hebburn to cause an upset so if a team like that is doing that it probably suggests we are doing something right. Chester will come up here looking to win but we want to try and keep our little run at home going and the players are absolutely desperate to do that.”
