Jarrow attitude delights Malia after Park View win

Jarrow earned a 3-1 win at Northern League Division Two rivals Park View on Saturday afternoon.

Jarrow manager Kennie Malia praised his side for avoiding any complacency during Saturday’s win against Northern League Division Two rivals Park View.

The Perth Green outfit took the lead with 37 minutes on the clock when Ryan Hardie found the net and their hopes of claiming yet another win were further boosted when hosts striker Zac Boddy was shown a red card just a minute later. Jarrow forward Hardie went on to steal the show during the second-half as he scored twice in the space of six minutes to complete his hat-trick and ensure Charlie Loveday’s strike 15 minutes from time was merely a consolation for Park View.

Malia revealed the half-time message he delivered to his players as they remained just a point from the top of the table and praised his squad for heeding his warning.

He told The Gazette: “It was a very good win for us against a very well organised side. They got the red card in the first half but they didn't look like they had a man down and I thought they played really well. We scored our first from a great well worked free kick and took that lead into half time. The second-half plan was not to get complacent or drop our levels and think it was done because we went on to score two more great goals. They did get one back but I felt we had more than enough to see the game out.”
