Five confirmed out of Brentford v Newcastle United - plus Bruno Guimaraes & Anthony Gordon doubts
Brentford v Newcastle United: Injury news impacting Eddie Howe and Keith Andrews ahead of their Premier League meeting.
Newcastle United and Brentford lock horns at the Gtech Community Stadium on Sunday with both teams desperate to enter the international break with a win. Keith Andrews’ side were beaten by Crystal Palace last weekend, whilst the Magpies slipped to defeat against West Ham.
Eddie Howe’s side responded to that defeat with victory in the Champions League in midweek, but left that game with a couple of injury concerns to deal with. The Bees, meanwhile, have a very good record at home this season and have just a couple of injury issues affecting them heading into Sunday’s game (2pm kick-off).
Here, we take a look at the latest injury news affecting both camps ahead of Brentford v Newcastle United:
Brentford injury news v Newcastle United
Antoni Milambo - out
Milambo suffered an ACL injury whilst on duty with Netherlands Under-21’s in October. He has been ruled-out of the full season.
Josh Dasilva - out
Dasilva has entered the final stages of his recovery from a knee injury. The defender won’t feature against Newcastle United, though.

Newcastle United injury news v Brentford
Bruno Guimaraes - doubt
Guimaraes admitted after Wednesday night’s game that he had been suffering with illness in the build-up to that match and ahead of their defeat to West Ham. Guimaraes will want to play at the Gtech Community Stadium.
“For me, it was like something was holding me with 10kg on my back,” Guimaraes said about playing with illness on Wednesday night. “For this club, I will do everything. I started feeling ill the day before we played West Ham.”
Anthony Gordon - doubt
A hip injury ended Gordon’s match prematurely on Wednesday night as he was withdrawn just a few minutes before half-time. Gordon had been suffering with the injury at the London Stadium on Sunday.
Gordon has gone 19 Premier League games without a goal or assist. He would love to end that this weekend if he is involved.
Will Osula - doubt
Osula was withdrawn from Wednesday night’s squad just minutes before the two teams took to the pitch to take part in their warm-ups. An ankle injury, one that Osula has been managing over the last few weeks, given as the reason for his withdrawal.
Tino Livramento - out
Livramento suffered a knee injury against Arsenal in September and an eight week timescale on his return was pencilled in by the club. Livramento has returned to work on the grass and whilst he still faces a few more weeks on the sidelines, there is hope that he can return to action just after the next international break.
Yoane Wissa - out
Wissa has been sidelined with a PCL injury ever since his move from Brentford on deadline day. He is yet to feature for the Magpies but could make his long awaited debut just after the international break. He will not feature against his former side this weekend.
Harrison Ashby - out
Ashby has not been training with the first-team squad due to a thigh injury but no estimate has been given on his return date.
