Danny Rose set to join Newcastle United on loan
Danny Rose is set to join Newcastle United on loan.
Steve Bruce wants to sign a left-back before tomorrow night’s transfer deadline after losing Jetro Willems and Paul Dummett to season-ending injuries.
And Rose, out of favour at Tottenham Hotspur, has been a loan target for head coach Bruce, who has already signed Valentino Lazaro and Nabil Bentaleb.
Rose, labelled a “class act” by Bruce last week, has been linked with a number of clubs, notably Bournemouth and Watford. However, the Gazette understands that the 29-year-old – who had a spell at Sunderland earlier in his career – is set for a half-season move to St James’s Park.
Speaking last week, Bruce said: “It would be wrong for me to sit and talk about other people’s players. He (Rose) is a quality player and a class act, the kid. Whether it’s possible, who knows.”
