The midfielder – who signed a contract extension at St James’s Park in the summer – is set to join League Two club Tranmere Rovers, according to the Liverpool Echo. Morpeth-born Young earned a first-team call-up in the summer after impressing at Under-23 level.
Speaking after being included in the club’s squad for a July fixture against then-Premier League champions Manchester City, the 19-year-old said: “This is where we want to be, and this is what we're working for, so it's a chance to really impress and hopefully stay here."

Meanwhile, United head coach Steve Bruce wants to move a number of senior players out of the club before Friday’s domestic transfer deadline. Christian Atsu, Rolando Aarons, Achraf Lazaar and Henri Saivet are available for transfer.
