Exclusive:I left Newcastle United on loan to get games - now I'm ready for more as transfer decision looms
Newcastle United goalkeeper Aidan Harris has discussed his loan move to National League North club Hebburn Town.
Newcastle United youngster Aidan Harris has enjoyed what has been a promising start to his initial one-month loan spell at Hebburn Town FC - and has revealed how the move came to fruition.
The Magpies academy goalkeeper has been training with Matthias Jaissle’s first-team squad in recent months and has made just a solitary competitive appearance for United’s Under-21s after he started a Premier League Cup win against Luton Town.

However, a loan move to Hebburn has thrust Harris into life in the National League North and he has showed up well in the appearances against AFC Telford United and Harborough Town over the last fortnight - and the 19-year-old stopper has hinted his time at Trustmark Group Stadium could yet be extended.
He told The Gazette: “It’s been good so far. I am up with the first team with Newcastle so I wasn’t getting as many games as I would have liked so I spoke to the coaches at the club and they thought it would be a good idea to get out for a month loan and maybe look at extending that into January. My first team last week, I thoroughly enjoyed it at Telford, it was a bit windy and it wasn’t the nicest game but I loved being in front of their fans and playing in an atmosphere.”
‘It was a big test’

After producing two solid displays against Telford and Harborough over the last fortnight, Harris has revealed he is relishing the opportunity to face an away crowd once again as the Hornets make the long trip to Merthyr Town on Saturday afternoon.
He said: “I just want to play and I love playing at home with our fans - but I look going away to someone else’s house, as some people call it, and dealing with everything that brings up. It’s like a personal thing between me and the fans and it’s a nice feeling when you do something positive. It’s a strong league, Harborough showed that, and it was a big test and I am ready for more.”
