Newcastle United issue official Sandro Tonali injury update after West Ham withdrawal
Newcastle United issue Sandro Tonali injury update ahead of their final Premier League match of the season away to Fulham.
Sandro Tonali was forced off with a hamstring injury during Newcastle United’s 3-1 victory against West Ham United at St James’ Park.

Newcastle were leading 2-0 following goals from Nick Woltemade and Will Osula when Tonali was withdrawn just eight minutes into the second half.
The Italian went down requiring treatment before being replaced by Joe Willock, who set up Osula’s second goal of the evening to make it 3-0 to the Magpies.

Valentin Castellanos quickly pulled one back for West Ham but Eddie Howe’s side saw out the win relatively comfortably to keep alive their faint hopes of qualifying for Europe.
Newcastle United issue Sandro Tonali injury update
Newcastle need to beat Fulham on the final day this Sunday and hope other results go their way, but whether they’ll have Tonali available at Craven Cottage remains to be seen.
Providing on Tonali after the game, Howe said: “I think he felt his hamstring. I don't think it's a big injury, but it was enough for him to come off.”
Newcastle United already without another midfielder
Howe’s squad were already without another midfielder against West Ham after Joelinton missed out with a thigh issue.
Jacob Ramsey replaced the Brazilian in the starting line-up and claimed his second assist in as many games after playing in Osula for his opening goal.
Woltemade, meanwhile, was also on the scoresheet as he netted his first St James’ Park goal since scoring a brace against Chelsea in December.
The German’s last goal before that was in February when United beat Aston Villa 3-1 in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
