Watch as 'special talent' Sean Neave scores first Wolves goals - Newcastle United strikers take note
Newcastle United loan watch: Sean Neave came off the bench to score his first professional goals for Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday night.
Teenage forward Sean Neave was the hero for Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Championship on Wednesday evening as he scored twice to help his side secure a 2-1 win at Bristol City.
The 19-year-old joined Wolves on loan from Newcastle United at the end of the summer transfer window in a decision that raised questions given the newly-relegated side’s strong options up front with Raul Jimenez and Adam Armstrong.
But a serious injury to Jimenez, while a blow to Wolves, had handed Neave an opportunity for more minutes. He grabbed an assist in his first senior league start in a 2-1 win at Burnley last month but has now followed that up with his first senior goals.

Neave was introduced with 17 minutes of normal time remaining with Bristol City leading 1-0 following Scott Twine’s first-half opener. It was Neave’s first visit to Ashton Gate since starting Newcastle’s 4-1 defeat to the Robins in pre-season.
But it proved to be a night to remember for the young Magpie as he turned in an equaliser from close range in the 82nd minute in a move involving former Newcastle duo Kieran Trippier and Armstrong.
A Trippier free-kick then lead to Neave heading in the winner in the 89th minute to secure victory for Wolves.
Following the match, former Newcastle vice-captain Trippier took to Instagram to share an image of Neave celebrating along with the caption: “Match winner Sean Neave. A special talent.”
Sean Neave reacts to Wolves heroics
After the win, Neave told Sky Sports: “It means a lot. I've got no words, really. I'm out of breath celebrating with the fans!
“It means so much. I've worked so hard to get here. To come on and score a goal, in my opinion, would be a good game for me. To score two and win the game, I just wasn't expecting that.”
On celebrating with the Wolves fans, Neave added: “Yes, I forgot where I was for a minute there. It means so much. The fans have been with me throughout the whole journey. To score two in front of them and win the game means a lot.”
Neave will now be hoping to get more minutes and goals under his belt at Wolves as Newcastle continue to watch on with keen interest. The Magpies have the option to recall Neave in January should they wish, but would likely allow him to continue his development out on loan for the remainder of the season.
However, Neave has already outscored Newcastle strikers Yoane Wissa, William Osula and Matias Fernandez-Pardo so far this season in just a brief substitute cameo.
