Northern League: Larmouth eyes promotion as Boldon CA continue to impress
Boldon CA sit on top of the Northern League Division Two table following their home win against Alnwick Town.
Boldon CA forward Callum Larmouth has set his sights on promotion after he helped his side preserve their place at the top of the Northern League Division Two table with a home win against Alnwick Town.
The summer signing and his team-mates went into the game looking to extend their unbeaten run to a ninth game in all competitions and they knew a win would ensure they head into the new week in top spot. However, it was the visitors that took a lead into half-time as Nathan Kidd and Kyle Cockburn scored either side of an outrageous equaliser from Liam Thear.

The game was turned on its head after the break as Larmouth came to the fore with a well-taken brace that means he has six goals in his last five appearances - and the forward believes a title win should not be ruled out for his side on the back of a fine start to the season.
He told The Gazette: “The win was massive for us especially because of the results around us - but also as a team, to keep that winning run and unbeaten mentality going, just shows what we are about. We’ve made our mark in the season and we are showing teams what we are about. We won’t be beaten easily. The start of the season hasn’t surprised me at all, we know what we can bring and what we’ve worked on as a team. Our aim is to be in play-offs at least but there’s nothing stopping us winning the league and I think we are showing we have it in us.”
