Northern League: Still more to come from in-form Jarrow - insists manager Kennie Malia
There is a busy weekend lying in wait in the second tier of the Ebac Northern League.
Jarrow manager Kennie Malia has insisted there is room for improvement from his side as they prepare to host Northern League Division Two rivals Tow Law Town on Saturday afternoon.

The Perth Green outfit head into the game sitting in third place in the table and are now unbeaten in their first 11 league games of the campaign following last weekend’s 6-0 demolition of Durham United. However, Malia’s men could have been sitting pretty at the top of the table had then not dropped points against the likes of Newcastle University, Billingham Synthonia and Darlington Town over the last six weeks.

That is where the Jarrow boss feels his players can still improve as he warned them they must come out on the right side of tough games if they are to push for promotion once again this season.
He told The Gazette: “That’s one of the things we have spoken about as a management team, we need to figure out why we didn’t get over the line in those four games that ended in draws. We need to improve that because turning those draws into wins can make the difference come the end of the season.
“It’s been a strong start to the season, we couldn’t really have asked for much better but if you’d told me we would be unbeaten after 11 games, I would have taken that. It’s been a brilliant start for us but we can’t think anything is done and dusted, there is a long way to go so we need to keep chipping away.”
