Northern League: Jarrow warned ahead of Durham United test
Jarrow and Boldon CA are in Northern League Division Two action this weekend.
Jarrow manager Kennie Malia has warned his players of the challenge they will face when they welcome Durham United to Perth Green on Saturday afternoon.
Malia’s men remain unbeaten in their first ten games of the league season and head into the weekend sitting just three points behind current Division Two leaders Boldon CA. However, with four draws from their ten games, there is room for improvement from Jarrow and their manager will hope that can be found when they entertain a Untied side that have failed to win any of their eight games so far this season.

Despite their visitors poor start to the campaign, Malia believes a youthful Durham side will cause problems for his own players and and stressed they must have the right mindset and they look to continue their push for promotion into the Northern League’s top tier.
He told The Gazette: “The later you face a University side, that’s when they get all of their players back after the summer break. You look on the league website and a lot of the lads from last season have returned. I know they haven’t started well but it will be a different game this weekend. We’ve had players missing, we’ve dealt with it so we are going into this knowing what we will face but also with the mindset that we can go and get three points and continue what has been a promising start to the season.”
Malia will be without striker Ryan Hardie after he suffered a hamstring injury in last weekend’s 3-1 win at Park View.
