Fostering information event to be held in South Shields
South Tyneside Council is set to host a fostering information event in South Shields town centre.
South Tyneside residents who think they could foster a child are being urged to attend a free information event later this month (September).
Foster with South Tyneside Council will be hosting the event at 25-27 Market Place, in South Shields, on Wednesday, September 23, from 5.30pm until 6.30pm.
Members of the public will be able to meet the local authority’s fostering team to find out further information about what it takes to become a foster carer in the borough.
The session will look to explain the different types of fostering, provide information about payments and outline the steps of the assessment process.
South Tyneside Council has also confirmed that there will be current foster carers on hand to speak about their own experiences and answer any questions from members of the public.
