Hebburn Town boss sets targets as Warrington Rylands trip kicks off tough week

Hebburn Town will visit Northern Premier League Premier Division rivals Warrington Rylands on Saturday.

Hebburn Town are preparing for three games inside seven days that will provide a true acid test of their credentials for promotion into the National League North.

The in-form Hornets are sitting at the top of the Northern Premier League Premier Division table after collecting maximum points from their last three fixtures. However, a visit to fourth placed Warrington Rylands on Saturday will kickstart a week that could well define their targets for the rest of what has become an increasingly exciting season.

Hot on the heels of this weekend’s visit to Gorsey Lane is another away day at second placed Hednesford Town on Tuesday night before Hebburn round off a monumental week by welcoming third placed FC United and Manchester to the Trustmark Group Stadium.

Far from being daunted by the challenges that lie in wait for his side, Hornets manager Daniel Moore has insisted he will continue to take a measured and controlled approach to the promotion push as his side continue to show remarkable signs of progress from what they achieved last season.

He told The Gazette: “We had a chat at training about standards and keeping those high because we have Warrington, Hednesford and then FC United of Manchester after that so the next ten days can have a baring on what we will be aiming for come the end of the season. The first aim was always to stay in the division and improve on last year because of how tough it is and at the moment we are doing that. Now we are looking at pushing to finish as high as we can in the hope of getting in those play-offs and getting a home game.

“We aren’t getting carried away by anything because we know there is a lot of football to be played between now and the end of the season and all we are doing is focusing on winning as many games as we can to finish as high up the table as possible.”

Moore will assess the fitness of several players before finalising his plans for Saturday’s visit to Rylands.
