Everton v Newcastle United team news bombshell dropped as midfielder ruled out for 'breach of discipline'
Everton v Newcastle United team news: The teams have been confirmed for Thursday’s Carabao Cup clash at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Matthias Jaissle has made one change to his Newcastle United side for the Carabao Cup clash at Everton.
Following Sunday’s 2-0 win at Crystal Palace, Newcastle have brought Jacob Ramsey back into the side for the first time since the Carabao Cup third round clash at Millwall last month. The midfielder was out for seven weeks out due to injury but returned off the bench at Selhurst Park.
He replaces Joelinton in the starting line-up at the Hill Dickinson Stadium with Newcastle’s side otherwise remaining unchanged.

Everton have also named a strong line-up, with the winners of tonight’s match facing League Two side Fleetwood Town in the quarter-final. Everton have never won the League Cup previously while Newcastle have reached the quarter-finals of the competition in each of the last four seasons, winning it in 2025.
Everton confirmed in an official announcement that Jarrad Branthwaite misses out due to concussion protocols but Jack Grealish is absent due to a ‘a breach of club discipline’. The former Manchester City man missed Everton’s 2-0 defeat against Arsenal last time out due to ‘illness’.
Matias Fernandez-Pardo and Lewis Miley remain out for Newcastle.
