Newcastle United rocked by fresh injury blow - could force Matthias Jaissle into change fans will love
Newcastle United team news: Matthias Jaissle hopes to have Lewis Miley and Matias Fernandez-Pardo back at Fulham - but a fresh blow has been confirmed.
Newcastle United have been dealt a fresh injury blow ahead of Saturday’s Premier League trip to Fulham (3pm kick-off).
Matthias Jaissle will be hoping to have Lewis Miley and Matias Fernandez-Pardo back available after missing the last three matches due to glute and illness issues, respectively. But the Magpies will be without Jacob Ramsey at Craven Cottage after the midfielder was sent off in the closing stages of Monday’s 1-0 defeat to Everton at St James’ Park.
“[Fernandez-Pardo] got really a heavy virus so he was out for more than two weeks and it had a big impact,” Jaissle explained.

“Now he's progressing, he's training with us again and now we need to see against Fulham how he is then really in a physical state [to play].
Lewis Miley is getting better and better, showed a good reaction now after he is back from the injury. Progress is exactly how I expected and I wished for.
Jaissle went on to confirm a fresh blow injury blow to Joelinton that will keep him out of Saturday’s trip.
“He went out with an injury again and we need to make the final treatment plan now for him and see how long he's been out,” Jaissle told the Gazette.
With Ramsey suspended, Joelinton out and Miley still working his way back to fitness, Jaissle’s fit and available midfield options are limited heading into the trip to London this weekend.
Nico Gonzalez, Joe Willock, Sean Steur and Aladji Bamba are the only players understood to be fit and available. Gonzalez and Willock have been regulars in the side this season while Steur hasn’t started a match since September and Bamba is still waiting to make his full debut.
The current midfield situation could see Jaissle unleash the midfield pairing of Gonzalez and Steur from the start this weekend - a change many Newcastle supporters have been pushing for.
Ewen Jaouen and Tino Livramento remain sidelined.
