A former South Shields bank has been listed on the property market.
A former South Shields town centre bank building has been brought to the property market.
The NatWest building, based at 40 King Street, has been listed by Barker Proudlove Limited for a guide price of £155,000.
In February, NatWest revealed that it was making a “tough choice” to close its South Shields branch, with the bank closing to members of the public on Tuesday, June 9.

A notice on the door of the closed bank states that next closest branch is on Fawcett Street, in Sunderland city centre.
It also states that there will be a community pop-up at the Ocean Road Community Centre on Mondays from 9.30am until 1.30pm for up to the next 12 weeks.
The property listing states that the “imposing end building” is in a “prime” retail location within South Shields town centre and offers 3,881 sq ft of space to a potential buyer.
It states: “King Street is the prime pedestrianised retail thoroughfare in South Shields town centre and includes the Metro Interchange, located in close proximity to the property.
“40 King Street is an imposing end building with a return frontage, three upper floors plus a basement located in the centre of the prime pitch.
“Surrounding retailers include New Look, JD Sports and Superdrug.

“The property also benefits from nine car parking spaces within a private car park to the rear.”
