Hebburn Town FC can still improve after Hednesford Town - insists goalscorer Allan
Hebburn Town returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory against Hednesford Town on Saturday.
Tom Allan has challenged Hebburn Town FC to continue to improve after they returned to winning ways by seeing off National League North rivals Hednesford Town at the Trustmark Group Stadium.
After notching his first Hornets goal in last weekend’s home draw against Chester, Allan was in the side that fell to a 5-1 defeat at Radcliffe in midweek in what represented a rare negative in an overwhelmingly positive start to a historic season.

Amid calls for a reaction from Hornets manager Daniel Moore, Hebburn made a positive start and got their rewards when former Newcastle United and Gateshead winger Allan headed home the first goal of the game inside the opening eight minutes.
Elliot Forbes doubled the lead with a close-range finish to grab his first goal for the club - but the visitors hit back with a goal from Ahkeem Rose just before the break. Despite some pressure during the second-half, Hebburn held on to claim the points and Allan believes the result shows his side are able to ‘grind out’ results on their home patch.
He told The Gazette: “I think it was definitely deserved and we needed to show a reaction to Tuesday’s defeat because we knew that wasn’t good enough. We know we can grind results out, especially here at home, and we just need to improve things away from home and we can see where we end up because it’s been a good start to the season - but we know we can continue to get better as the season goes on."
