Newcastle United issue official Matias Fernandez-Pardo update as striker ruled out for three matches
Newcastle United team news: Matthias Jaissle has delivered an update on Matias Fernandez-Pardo after the forward missed Monday’s 1-0 defeat to Everton.
Matias Fernandez-Pardo missed a third successive match for Newcastle United due to illness.
The Belgian summer signing has been ruled out for the 2-0 win at Crystal Palace and the 3-1 and 1-0 defeats to Everton over the past eight days.
He was last seen being brought off early in the 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa last month with Matthias Jaissle confirming the 21-year-old had been struggling with illness.

Now Fernandez-Pardo has missed the last three games, Jaissle has issued a fresh update.
“He was sick with a heavy virus,” Jaissle told the Gazette. “He was training yesterday for the first time, but he was, in our perspective, not physically ready to be a part of the squad [v Everton].
“Hopefully he can make progress, but it was hitting him quite heavily.”
Next up for Newcastle is a trip to Fulham on Saturday as Jaissle’s side look to bounce back from successive defeats to Everton. Fernandez-Pardo remains a doubt for the game but with hope he can train and recover in time to make the match at Craven Cottage.
Lewis Miley is also a doubt for the match with a glute issue while Tino Livramento and Ewen Jaouen remain sidelined. Jacob Ramsey will also be suspended for the match after being shown two yellow cards in quick succession in stoppage time against Everton.
The result leaves the Magpies sitting 13th in the Premier League table and four points above the relegation zone with nine matches played.
