Spooky athletes wanted for South Shields Halloween Parkrun
A Halloween twist is coming to the South Shields Parkrun.
South Shields’ weekly Parkrun is taking on a spooky twist this Halloween.
The Parkrun is a 5km (3.1 miles) run which has been held in venues across the world every Saturday morning for 22 years.

The South Shields Parkrun starts at the town’s beach outside Colmans Seafood Temple at 9am, taking in the Leas and covering the last mile of the Great North Run, before finishing at the Bamburgh pub on the Coast Road.
To add to the fun on Saturday, October 31, organisers are inviting runners to wear suitably spooky outfits to add to the fun.
Organisers say: “Come and join us for a spooktacular Witches Parkrun!
“Dress up as a witch, bring your broomsticks (if you dare!) and let’s have some fun. The crazier the costume the better.”
South Shields parkrun is a fun, free event organised by volunteers for the benefit of everyone. Under-11s must be accompanied by an adult. More information at www.parkrun.org.uk.
